Our History

Costahouse began life in 2001 as Terry McKinley Spanish Properties, founded on a simple principle: providing honest, personal guidance to people looking to purchase property in Spain. As the business grew, it evolved into Costahouse S.L. in 2009, expanding rapidly with offices in both Benalmádena and Fuengirola.

The property market was very different in those early days. Selling a home in Spain often meant spending countless hours driving clients from one development to another, visiting both new-build and resale properties in the hope of finding the perfect match. There was no Facebook, WhatsApp, GPS, or video calling, and internet services were limited. Our role extended far beyond simply showing properties. We would personally guide clients through each area, pointing out local schools, restaurants, transport links, and all the practical details that would help them build a new life in Spain.

Much has changed since then. Advances in technology have transformed the way people search for and buy property. Today’s buyers often arrive with extensive knowledge of their preferred locations and can sometimes identify the exact street they wish to live on. Professional drone photography, virtual tours, and digital communication now allow properties to be marketed and sold to international buyers without them even setting foot in Spain.

At Costahouse, we have embraced these technological advances and continuously adapted to meet the needs of modern buyers. By combining innovative marketing tools with decades of local knowledge, we provide our clients with more information, greater convenience, and a smoother purchasing experience than ever before.

While the methods have changed, our core values remain exactly the same. We continue to believe that buying a property is about more than bricks and mortar—it is about finding the right home, in the right location, with the support and guidance of people who genuinely care.
